What happened in America that people think that its ok to get something for nothing? Why do some people think that they are owed by everyone? What happened that these Americans have lost their pride and feel compelled to bring everyone down within ear shot? Who is to blame? One last question, If you were payed to misbehave and demand something for nothing, would you?
A server came to me and showed me a plate that had an appetizer on it. On the edge of the plate was a live tiny little green inch worm. I asked what the person was expecting and the server said for the appetizer to be taken off the bill. I did that, them went by the table to apologize. When I got to the table there were four adult women. I apologized to the woman that had the problem and asked if there was any thing I could get her. She said "no" but the lady across from here shoved her plate of food towards the center of the table and said dramatically "that was disgusting, I cant eat here. Bring me a box". What? I thought, you want a box to take this disgusting food home? Any way I complied. A little time went by and that server came back to me to tell me that the lady that had the worm, wanted another of the same appetizer but doesn't want to pay for it. I said I could make that happen. After all four were finished eating I sent four small desserts with their check. The server came back from the table again to tell me that I needed to do more than dessert, they wanted me to pick up the whole check. Angered by this I went back to the table and simply said "So whats up, what is it you want". The shit sirring lady said "nothing, just bring us the check. We wont be back" She expected me to cower and tear up the check, instead all I could respond was "ok, thank you". I went back to the server and instructed her to take them their check. They payed the check with a credit card, when the server went back to get the check she noticed that the guests broke her pen into several pieces and scattered them all over the table.
My closing thoughts on this is first of all, the worm on the edge of the plate would not have survived the intense heat lamp that the food sits under while waiting to be delivered to the table. In the five years I've worked for this company I have never seen an insect like that. I can only think that the worm came with the guests Second, what is up with some people that they feel they have the right to respond to a problem that isn't theirs. Did these ladies go out and decide that one is going to be designated bitch? Finely, If they complain to the corporate office, they will get a gift card sent to them and invited back in to dine with us. WTF. So I ask again, who is to blame?
