Daily things happen in restaurants that just blow the mind. When things get busy people tend to do things that they wouldn't normally do if they weren't in the weeds. Like when getting a beverage for a guest, being in a hurry the server might scoop ice with the glass intended for the beverage, This is a bad move for two reasons, one is that its unsanitary and two is that the glass could break in the ice, which would lead to all sorts of problems.
I worked for a time in the kitchen and I trained under a grill cook that was hard of hearing, she handled her handicap well but non the less she was hard of hearing. One night when we were very busy I was setting up plates as the hearing impared girl was working the grill. She had a lot going on and was pumping out some food. There was no time to stop and just breath. I had my back to her and the grill, when she had grilled items that were ready, she'd swing them around to me. I then would get the grilled items to the right plate that were waiting with its side dishes. In the middle of this intense rush I heard her sneeze and simultaneously I heard Tsssssssssss. I know that she didn't hear her sneeze hit the grill and I didn't feel I could have told her about it with out everyone else hearing me. I opted to just go on as though nothing happened.I did throw up a little in my mouth but continued to get the food out. The whole insident left a bad taste in my mouth and I wondered if anyone else had a bad taste in theirs!
